The Mauryan Empire was one of the earliest large-scale empires in Indian history. It was founded by Chandragupta Maurya around 322 BCE.

2. Rise of the Mauryan Empire

Rise of the Mauryan Empire

Before the rise of the Mauryas, the Nanda dynasty ruled Magadha.

Chandragupta Maurya, guided by Chanakya, overthrew the Nanda ruler and established the Mauryan dynasty.
